Griffin Lake Mountain Lodge has several short hiking trails that leave from the lodge.
The Eagle River Hiking Trail - This trail leaves the lodge and proceeds downriver along the crystal clear Eagle River. There are several spots where, in autumn, you can stop and view the salmon spawning. The trail is about a 40 minute round trip and the terrain is quite easy with virtually no elevation changes.
The Camp Creek Canyon Hiking Trail - This trail leaves the lodge and proceed up into Camp Creek Canyon. The trail has about 1,000 feet of elevation gain and terminates at a beautiful cascading waterfall. The hike is about a 50 minute round trip.
The Griffin Lake Hiking Trail - This trail requires that you canoe across from the lodge to a small landing, pull the canoe ashore and then hike along the south side of the lake. This is a very easy hike and takes about 30 minutes round trip.
Mount Revelstoke National Park is located 30 kilometers east of Griffin Lake Mountain Lodge. It offers a variety of hiking opportunities from easy self guide trails to tough and steep alpine and sub-alpine trails. Unlike some of the hiking in the Canadian Rockies, many of these trails set off from a 7,000 foot high parking lot at the top of The Meadows in the Sky Parkway. From there there are a number of hiking trails that range in duration from15 minutes to several hours. Please note: there is a fee to enter all national parks.
This hiking trail is about 20 kilometers west of Griffin Lake Mountain Lodge B&B. It is a short but phenomenal trail that leaves from the parking lot of "The Last Spike", and proceeds up the Gorge Creek Canyon past three very beautiful waterfalls - particularly beautiful in the spring when the water flow is highest. It is only about a 2 kilometer hike |
